You can find these settings in the settings tab of ToolBox, inside the smart shipping calculator tab.
Each delivery zone has its own set of delivery prices. Create a zone for each location group you want to set prices for. If a customer's delivery address falls within multiple zones, the zone highest on the list is selected. Zones can include multiple countries, states, cities, post codes (zip codes) or suburbs.
Goods are transported to zones inside containers or vehicles. Define the weight and size constraints of the containers you might use. Each container can be used in one or more zones, and can be assigned its own delivery price for that zone:
Manage delivery prices for your organisation by assigning relevant containers to each zone. Set a container price for each zone the container is assigned to:
After you have established your containers and zones, you need to select one of three methods for calculating a delivery price. After you have selected your preferred method, press ‘save changes’ in the top right corner of screen to ensure the correct fields display before you enter container pricing.
Flat price
Example: $10 for a box or $100 for a quarter pallet
The charge is a flat amount for the container, whether it only has a small part in it or it's full, or if it's travelling a short or long distance.
This option keeps pricing simple.
To factor in the weight and size of the order, place size and weight restraints on the containers such that larger/heavier containers cost more.
To factor in the distance the order is travelling, use more zones. Set a cheaper flat price for zones closest to your location, and set more expensive prices for zones further away.
Flat price + distance rate
Example: $10 + $0.50 per kilometre or $10 + $0.35 per mile
Each container costs a flat amount plus extra based on how far it is being taken.
This option factors in the distance travelled for delivery the order. ToolBox will calculate the distance between your address and the customer's address and apply a price per kilometre or price per mile.
Because the price will already increase with the distance the order is travelling, you don't need to create prices for as many zones to segment by distance.
To factor in the weight and size of the order, place size and weight restraints on the containers such that larger/heavier containers cost more.
Flat price + weight rate
Example: $10 + $1 per kilogram or $10 + $0.50 per pound
Each container costs a flat amount plus extra based on how heavy the container is.
ToolBox will calculate the weight of each container and apply a price per kilogram or price per pound.
Because the price will already increase with the weight of the container, you don't need to create prices for as many containers.
To factor in the distance the order is travelling, use more zones. Set a cheaper flat price for zones closest to your location, and set more expensive prices for zones further away.
After you have selected your preferred method, you can assign relevant containers to each zone. At this point, the relevant fields will be displayed for you to input your pricing.
You can also enforce and overall minimum price by completing the minimum delivery price field.
