The ToolBox dashboard
This will open the quote screen within ToolBox, so you can start processing and calculating your parts.
After creating a new quote (or quote), the default view is the "parts" tab. This is where we can start working on our quote.
To help you understand the quoting screen more please see below:

The parts tab on the quote screen
In the quoting screen you have the following sections:
- 1.Quote name and customer/contact data.
- From here you can edit the quote number and select the relevant customer and contact for this quote you are working on. A customer and contact can be selected from the list of existing data or you may add a new customer or contact from this screen.
- 2.Quote status & actions.
- In this section of the quote screen you will see the status of the quote (or quote) you are working on and further options to export, calculate, or perform an action on this quote (or quote) depending on the quote status. These actions include things such as duplicating a quote, marking a quote as ordered & marking a quote as lost. The status can be any of the following; Not Calculated, Calculated, Lost, Ordered or Cancelled.
- 3.Page views within the quote screen.
- In this side menu of the quote screen you can control which page and details you are seeing within section 4 of the image above. This is again dependant on the status of the quote (or quote) on which screen details you can see, the screen details you can see differs between the parts you are working on, the calculations within the quote (or quote) or the quote itself.
- 4.Detail Screen
- This shows the detail screen relevant to the menu option you have selected from the side bar of the quote screen itself. Depending which menu you have selected you will see either details about the parts you are working on, the calculations within the quote (or quote) or the quote itself.
To upload your DXF/DWG files into the quote (or quote) you will need to do either of the following options:
- 1.Select "Add 2D Parts" and then locate your files for uploading using the standard file upload option; or
- 2.Drag and drop the files directly from another window, folder or email you have into the Parts screen of your ToolBox quote (or quote).
Once you have uploaded the required files into ToolBox the drawing geometry will now appear in the ToolBox quote screen. You will also see the list of drawings loaded on the left of the quote screen along with a status symbol, which will indicate whether there are any issues with the drawing that need fixing or whether the drawing is good for quoting.

Once your files have loaded into ToolBox you may use the menus on the right hand side of the quote screen to specify the material and quantity data for the parts. The material and quantity data can be selected and specified for each part under the "Properties" section of these menus.

Properties menu within the parts screen of ToolBox
Applying your material and quantity data to a part can be done individually or you may select multiple parts at a time in bulk. To do this, multi-select parts using the tick boxes in the parts list, then set the part information in the right hand menus. This will apply the changes to all selected parts.

There are further options within the Properties menu which can be used within ToolBox, these are as follows:
- Units switch
- Set the system of measurement that should be used when interpreting this part.
- If the part's dimensions should be in millimetres, set the units to millimetres.
- If the part's dimensions should be in inches, set the units to millimetres.
- Customer supplied
- This option allows you to change whether this part is being quoted from your own material supply/stock or whether the customer you are preparing this quote for is supplying the material to you. This will alter how the material price for the part is calculated and whether a handling charge for the customer material needs applying to the part.
- Consumption mode
- This switch allows you to change how much material will be charged for when quoting this part.
- If set to Whole Sheet, the full sheet area is divided by the number of parts that will fit on the sheet to determine how much to charge for.
- If set to Nest Bounds, any strips of remnant that would be produces from a fully nested sheet will not be charged for. The nest area of a fully nested sheet is divided by the number of parts that will fit on the sheet to determine how much to charge for.
Now that you have uploaded your parts and selected the relevant materials and quantities, we need to calculate the prices. Click the 'Calculate' button to run the calculations for time it takes to process each part, and for the pricing of the cutting, material and additional charges for the quote.
